Case Study | Alleviating Parkinson’s Disease Symptoms with a Whole Body Cryotherapy Routine

In this case study, our client Chris details how he has developed a Whole Body Cryotherapy routine, supported by the physiotherapists at The Cryo Hub, which has helped him to keep on top of his symptoms.

What were the conditions or symptoms that lead you to look for Whole Body Cryotherapy?

Parkinson’s Disease, and the synmptoms of increasing lack of reactions in my fingers and nervous system and the effect on my gait, and clarity in my thinking.

Why did you think Cryotherapy would help you?

I had read a lot about it, increasing the blood flow within the body and organs, and I
thought this would be a lot easier than going into ice baths.

How did you find the initial experience and have there been any changes to your Parkinson’s symptoms?

My gait gets a lot better. I can walk in feeling very sluggish and after my sessions, I
feel quite springy in my step and my gait is better when I leave.

I am a lot more alert and have a lot more arm movement, the communication down my arms is a lot better.

Have you developed a routing Cryotherapy that works for you?

As it is a unique condition, it is difficult to say from one day to the next what works
best.

The routine of doing 2 sessions a week is definitely a benefit in terms of
long term accumulative effects, and being on top of it, 1-2 sessions a week is perfect
for me as it seems to keep the symptoms in check
